Shareholders of the project include:
- Nexen, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chinese offshore oil producer CNOOC, has 36.54% interest in the development.
- The remaining interests are held by Maersk Oil North Sea UK (31.56%), Suncor Energy UK (26.69%) and Edinburgh oil and Gas (5.21%).
- The Golden Eagle Area Development includes the Golden Eagle, Peregrine and Solitaire fields and is located 70km north east of Aberdeen, with an average water depth of 89-139 metres. The main facilities include producing wells and a production platform. Currently there are two Golden Eagle wells with potential to produce approximately 18,000 barrels of oil per day. The project is expected to reach its peak production of approximately 70,000 barrels of oil per day (boepd) in 2015, with Maersk Oil net production expected to be c 20,000 boepd.
